Gentry Park Senior Living Celebrates National Nurses Week

National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, Florence Nightingale’s birthday. These permanent dates enhance planning and position National Nurses Week as an established recognition event. As of 1998, May 8 was designated as National Student Nurses Day, to be celebrated annually. And as of 2003, National School Nurse Day is celebrated on the Wednesday within National Nurses Week (May 6-12) each year. The nursing profession has been supported and promoted by the American Nurses Association (ANA) since 1896.

Mary Ann Pemberton is our Director of Wellness. She will always stop what she is doing to listen and help when asked. She is dedicated to coming to work every day. Mary Ann will stay late and meet with residents and their family members to coordinate care. Residents like that she always gets back with them to answer their questions and they like the kindness and willingness to joke about the wellness team.

We have the best wellness team. They are a dedicated staff that enjoys coming to work and interacting with the residents. The wellness team has developed relationships with the residents, creating a true home like environment. They help each other out to make sure our residents are living their best possible life. I want to give a huge shout out to our nursing staff!

The wellness team stepped up to support the community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic by offering words of encouragement and spending extra, quality time with the residents who could not have visitors.

We will recognize our nurses at Gentry Park Senior Living Bloomington, IN during National Nurses Week with small gifts, appreciation cards, and a shoutout on Paylocity.
